HEAVY EQUIPMENT
Heavy equipment financing and leasing
Heavy iron is bought when the work is already sold, which is why the money has to move at the same speed as the job. We finance dozers, loaders, graders, articulated trucks and cranes — new, used, off a dealer lot or out of a Ritchie Bros sale — and the attachments, grade control and lowboy ride on the same lease.
What we finance
New or used, from any vendor, dealer or auction. Named manufacturers are examples of what this covers, not a limit — if what you need is not on this list, ask.
- Crawler dozers — Cat D4 through D8, Deere 750L P-Tier, Komatsu D51PXi with intelligent Machine Control
- Wheel loaders — Cat 950 and 966, Deere 744 X-Tier, Komatsu WA320-8, Volvo L120H
- Motor graders — Cat 140 and 150, Deere 772G, Komatsu GD655-7
- Articulated and rigid haul trucks — Cat 745, Volvo A40G, Bell B30E
- Rough terrain and truck cranes, telehandlers and carry decks — Grove RT, Link-Belt, Tadano
- Compaction and soil equipment — Cat CS12 GC, Bomag, Hamm rollers, sheepsfoot and smooth drum
- Crushing and screening plants, conveyors and pug mills
- 3D machine control and GPS — Trimble Earthworks, Topcon MC-Max, Leica iCON, Deere SmartGrade
- Buckets, forks, rippers, blades, couplers and hydraulic breakers
- Lowboy and RGN trailers, and used or auction machines with an inspection
Why lease it
01
Bid the job with the iron already covered
A machine you can put a payment on is a machine you can put on a bid. Financing turns a purchase price you would have to save for into a fixed monthly cost you can price into the work.
02
One lease for the machine, the attachments and the trailer
The dozer is not the whole expense. Grade control, buckets, breakers and the lowboy that moves it can be written into the same lease, bought from one dealer or from four.
03
Auction and private-party iron qualifies
You are not limited to a dealer lot. Machines from Ritchie Bros, IronPlanet or a competitor's yard are financed the same way a dealer unit is, with an inspection in place of a warranty.

Heavy equipment financing questions
Can I finance used heavy equipment from an auction?
Yes. Used and auction machines are financed the same way new ones are, including units from Ritchie Bros, IronPlanet and private sellers. Older or higher-hour iron is usually approved on a shorter term with an inspection report, and the funds go to the seller once the machine passes.
Can a new construction company finance heavy equipment?
Yes. A company in its first year or two is looked at on the owner's industry experience, personal credit, the contract or work backlog the machine will run on, and a down payment. Startup contractors are financed regularly, so it is worth applying rather than assuming a young company cannot be funded.
Is it better to lease or buy heavy equipment outright?
Buying outright ties up cash that could be running payroll and bonding capacity. A lease keeps the machine working while the payment stays fixed and predictable, and end-of-term options include owning the machine for one dollar, so leasing does not have to mean handing it back.
Can I finance attachments and machine control separately?
Yes. Buckets, breakers, couplers, GPS and grade control kits can be financed on their own or added to the machine's paper. Contractors often finance a Trimble or Topcon system for iron they already own, because the technology pays for itself on the first grading job it saves.
